In response to contemporary trends, innovative teaching methods, such as gamification and digital learning, have been developed. Enhancing students' English proficiency in the classroom requires purposeful teaching and learning that focuses primarily on communicative language proficiency. Teachers use a variety of games and activities in their lessons to encourage students to learn a new language. However, there are ongoing concerns about the use of gamified learning in ESL classes and the factors that influence students' English proficiency. Building on previous studies, this study examines the use of gamification, or game-based learning, in ESL teaching. Researchers investigate how gamification affects motivation and engagement
