About the Journal

Announcement:
On the 1st of January 2025, the Karbala Journal of Medicine will be rescheduled to publish three times a year (April, August, and December) instead of two. Aim and Scope

The Karbala Journal of Medicine, the official journal of the College of Medicine at the University of Kerbala, is an open-access, single-blind (by reviewer), peer-reviewed medical journal. It is dedicated to publishing studies on various aspects of medicine. Coverage includes internal medicine, medical microbiology and immunology, pathology, pediatrics, surgery, medical nanotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, physiology, epidemiology, gynecology and obstetrics, radiology, dentistry, nursing, and other medical studies. All are welcome to submit to this journal. The journal does not publish articles in any field other than medicine.

Peer Review Integrity

The peer review process for all research articles in this journal, including special issues, special sections, or supplements, was rigorous and involved initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by at least two independent referees. Some submissions are initially rejected without external review based on editorial judgment. Submissions suggested for external review will be subjected to a single-blind peer review process in the Karbala Journal of Medicine. Editors can select external reviewers using a database of experts, those suggested by the authors, or their own choices. Journal instructions must be followed, or manuscripts will be rejected after two preparation attempts.

Ownership and Management

The Karbala Journal of Medicine is officially affiliated with the College of Medicine at the University of Kerbala. Charges from authors are used to fund this independent journal.
