Original Papers
(Not Extracted from Theses or Dissertations):
Original research papers are scholarly articles that present new, independent research conducted by the author(s) on a specific topic. These papers are typically based on original data collection, experimentation, surveys, or theoretical analysis, and contribute new knowledge to the field. Unlike research derived from theses or dissertations, these papers are written specifically for publication in academic journals or conferences. They follow a structured format, which typically includes an introduction, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion. The aim is to communicate new findings, theoretical developments, or novel methodologies that have not been previously published. Original research papers are essential for advancing scientific knowledge and are often subject to peer review to ensure the quality and validity of the research.
Postgraduate Paper
Research Papers Extracted from Theses and Dissertations:
Research papers taken from theses and dissertations are scholarly articles that distill the key findings and contributions of a larger research project into a more concise format. These papers often focus on specific aspects or segments of the original thesis or dissertation, emphasizing the most critical results, methodologies, and implications of the research. While the full thesis or dissertation provides an in-depth analysis of a research topic, these papers are typically structured to appeal to a broader academic audience and follow the conventions of journal articles, which are more focused and targeted. Authors may adapt the content, refining the research to meet the specific scope of the journal or conference they are submitting to, while retaining the foundational work and conclusions of the larger project.
