Editorial process (peer review)

Al Bahith Journal follows a rigorous and transparent editorial process to ensure the publication of high-quality and original research. The journal employs a double-blind peer review system, where both the identities of the authors and the reviewers remain anonymous to ensure impartiality and fairness.

Editorial Workflow

  1. Initial Submission Check – The editorial office reviews submitted manuscripts for completeness, adherence to the journal’s guidelines, and plagiarism detection. Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements are returned to the authors for revision or rejected outright.
  2. Editor Assessment – The Editor-in-Chief or an assigned section editor evaluates the manuscript’s relevance, originality, and scientific merit. If the manuscript meets the initial criteria, it is sent for peer review.
  3. Double-Blind Peer Review – The manuscript is sent to at least two independent experts in the relevant field. Reviewers assess the manuscript based on originality, methodology, clarity, contribution to the field, and ethical considerations.
  4. Reviewer Feedback and Decision – Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editorial team makes one of the following decisions:
    • Accepted without revisions
    • Accepted with minor revisions (authors must address comments before final acceptance)
    • Major revisions required (authors must submit a revised manuscript for further review)
    • Rejected (due to poor quality, lack of originality, or ethical concerns)
  5. Revisions and Final Decision – If revisions are required, authors submit a revised version addressing reviewers' comments. The revised manuscript may undergo additional review before final approval.
  6. Copyediting and Proofreading – Accepted manuscripts undergo professional language editing and formatting to ensure clarity and adherence to publication standards.
  7. Publication – The final approved manuscript is published online with open-access availability, ensuring wide dissemination.

Al Bahith Journal is committed to maintaining high ethical standards and follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to prevent plagiarism, conflicts of interest, and research misconduct.
