Different learning styles and preferences are taken into account by student-centered teaching methodologies. These methods stress the value of individualized learning activities that may be customized to meet each student's requirements and interests. SDL has been used in this paradigm especially in language teaching. This research examines the attitudes of EFL fifth preparing students in Iraqi towards self-directed learning. They were randomly identified and 100 grade 5 preparatory school students were chosen to sample in the study in the academic year 2023-2024.
