 Our Story

Kerbala International Journal of Management and Economics (KIJME) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Management and Economics at the University of Kerbala, Iraq. Established in 2010, the journal serves as a platform for high-quality academic research in the fields of management, economics, accounting, finance, and related disciplines.

The journal was originally launched under the name “مجلة كلية الادارة والاقتصاد”, publishing exclusively in Arabic and in printed form. It was founded under the visionary leadership of Prof. Dr. Hakem Mohsen Mohammed, the earliest Dean of the College of Management and Economics at the University of Kerbala. His dedication to academic excellence laid the foundation for what would become one of Iraq’s most respected economic and management research outlets.

In June 2024, the journal was rebranded to Kerbala International Journal of Management and Economics (KIJME), reflecting a renewed commitment to international academic standards. Under the editorial direction of Assoc. Prof. Mohammed Faez Hasan, the journal adopted a digital platform (OJS), transitioned to publishing in English only, and expanded its scope to attract regional and global research contributions.

KIJME maintains open access for all published articles and is committed to upholding rigorous peer review, ethical publishing practices, and academic integrity. The journal is indexed in prominent databases and continues to grow in impact and recognition.
