Journal Policies

1. Publication Policy

Scope: The Kerbala International Journal of Management and Economics (KIJME) publishes peer-reviewed research in management, economics, accounting, finance, banking, and statistics.

Language: All articles are published in English.

Frequency: The journal is issued semi-annually (two issues per year).

Open Access: KIJME is an open-access journal, providing free and immediate access to its content.

License: Content is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0).

Article Processing Charges (APC): 150,000 IQD for national authors, and $100 for foreign authors. A full APC waiver applies to international authors until July 2025.

2. Peer Review Policy

Review Model: The journal follows a double-blind peer-review process. Identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential.

Reviewer Selection: Manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent scholars with subject-area expertise.

Evaluation Criteria: Submissions are judged on originality, methodological soundness, clarity, and scholarly contribution.

Editorial Timeline: Initial editorial decisions are typically communicated within 4–6 weeks of submission.

3. Retraction and Correction Policy

The journal may retract or correct articles under the following circumstances:

  • Significant errors, fabrication, falsification, or unreliable findings
  • Redundant or duplicate publication
  • Plagiarism or unethical research conduct
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest

Retractions will be clearly labeled and linked to the original article for transparency.

4. Ethics and Publication Integrity

Authorship: Authors must meet authorship criteria and approve the final manuscript.

Plagiarism Screening: All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts exceeding acceptable similarity thresholds will be rejected.

AI-Generated Content: Manuscripts must contain less than 5% AI-generated text to ensure academic integrity.

Conflict of Interest: Authors are required to disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest.

Data Availability: Authors are encouraged to make supporting data publicly accessible or available upon request.

5. Archiving Policy

The journal utilizes secure digital archiving solutions to preserve its contents long-term, ensuring availability even if the journal is no longer published.

6. Appeals and Complaints

Authors may submit appeals to editorial decisions by contacting the editorial board in writing with supporting arguments. Complaints about the editorial process may be escalated to the Editor-in-Chief for further review.
