Peer-Review Process

Editorial Guidelines & Peer Review Policy

1. Peer Review Process

Kerbala International Journal of Management and Economics (KIJME) applies a dual-blind peer review policy. Submissions are evaluated by two or more reviewers in the same academic domain as the manuscript’s focus.

Reviewers are selected for their subject-area expertise and academic qualifications. Identities of authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process to ensure impartiality.

  • Initial editorial screening (desk review)
  • Assignment to 2+ domain-specific reviewers
  • Evaluation criteria: originality, clarity, methodology, contribution
  • Decisions: Accept, Minor/Major Revisions, or Reject
  • Review timeline: 4–6 weeks

2. Author Guidelines

Authors must follow the below requirements before submission:

  • Manuscript must be in English, clear, and well-structured
  • Similarity index must be below 20%, and AI-generated content under 5%
  • Follow APA or IEEE citation styles unless otherwise stated
  • Include abstract (150–250 words) and 3–6 keywords
  • Manuscripts must contain original, unpublished work
  • Authors must declare any conflicts of interest
  • Supporting data should be available on request or via public repository

Full details can be found in the Author Guidelines section.

3. Reviewer Guidelines

Reviewers are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards:

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of manuscript content
  • Provide objective, constructive feedback within 2–4 weeks
  • Disclose conflicts of interest, if any
  • Evaluate based on originality, methodology, clarity, and impact
  • Do not use content for personal gain
